Drumroll - cards as promised

I call this one.......TRAIN CARD! Made with the old DSP from last year....but you know what - It is still one of my favourites. I am a bit sad that this stamp set is retiring. Think it is one I will keep anyway.

And my next one...............ALIEN CARD!

I am very very sad the PUN FUN is retiring. I think the rocket and the hippo from this set are my all time favourite stamps. How cute are they! So - I suggest if you don't have PUN FUN......GET ITNOW BEFORE IT GONE FOREVER!!

The next one is a baby card that I made for my mum. No, my mum has not had a baby. She wanted me to make a baby card for someone she knew that had a baby. Made with the Specialty Designer Paper on p57 of the current catalogue. Another suggestion.......this is really good paper, I have used it heaps. Whilst it is Baby paper......you can use it for lots and lots of things! VERY VERY versalite.

And last but not least........Yet another baby card. This is made using the Elephant from the mini just passed. I had meant to post it earlier....but alas - just not that organised.

Well well well, look who has dropped in and decided to say hi!

I know. I know - I have been very slack on the Stampin' front. So much happening with the move, that stampin has so of taken a bit of a back seat!

I am still here though. Just a tad busy, new baby....big move coming and packing needs to be done!

Thought I would drop a quick email to let you all know about the new mini (although I am sure you all know about it already). It's not bad - I like it!

My first impression of the mag was that there were lots of bright colours. I love it! The paper and buttons are wonderful. Have my eye on the pompoms next. Have this thing floating around in my head, can't wait to unpack my boxes and set up so I can have a big play.

She is here!!

Greetings Stampers!

Well- after a long nine-months.......I am happy to announce that our little bundle of joy has arrived! Alana Gisele arrive on Tuesday 18th (yes - she actually arrived on her due date), making her 1 week old.

And - I know that I am very biased being her mother.....but she is very very cute. The kids are absolutely besotted by her.....actually - we all are. She is just so kissable and huggable - we love her! She has fitted into our family just nicely.

A few other things have happened of late....hence the reason why I have not been creating. It looks like the Dickins are heading for a Tree Change! We are moving house! So, not only have I just had a child, but we have also put our house on the market. Looking back I realise that maybe NOW wasn't the ideal time to actually put our house on the market as we have been getting madly ready for the Open House Inspections....but you live and learn. Word of advice to you out there though - open house with a 5 day old baby is VERY hard work!

And - I can't believe it....but school holidays are nearly over! I am a bit sad....it has been so much fun (although very tiring) to have the kids around. I have loved watching them with their little sister and also watching them playing together. It has been great watching them riding their bikes (although - they are obsessed with their bikes at the moment!)...and playing with their cousin Luke. I have to laugh, my kids are obsessed with their cousin. They just can't get enough of him. Baden wakes up most days and suggests that we ring Luke to see what he is doing.

Baby Shower Card!

Baby Baby Bay......I guess you are all guessing what this post will be about. Let me just say that 1 only got 1 HAND MADE card from my Friends who attended the baby shower that KJ and my sister hosted......Let me say it again - ONE!!!! Actually, I lie...................I got 2 as KJ had made one that everyone signed.....but that isn't the point. There were 6 Cardmakers there!!!!!

I hope Bec Gomez doesn't mind...but I am going to post her lovely card here. Look at admire ladies!

Why - hello....my name is Ange!

I thought I would introduce myself again..........it has been such a long time since I last blogged that I guess you have actually forgotten who I am.

I have been sort of pre-occupied with everything else in life, that I haven't been Stampin' very much at all lately. I think I have done everything else BUT stamp.

For those that know me.....know that we have the new bub arriving shortly. 3 weeks to go! It's all very exciting but somewhat daunting. Every now and then I realise that we will be having a new baby shortly. Feels very weird......sort of surreal. We are so used to our family as we are, that although very excited....just can't imagine what life will be like in a months time!

Well - I have been spoilt with 2 Baby Showers......Tell me - who has a baby shower for their THIRD child? I have never heard anything like it before....but not only did I have 1 baby shower for my THIRD child....but I had 2!!!! How funny is that???? It was very lovely.....so big thanks to those involved.

Pete has had some time off work, so we have been doing this and that as a family. Sort of want the kids to have fun holidays before the baby is born......as life will soon be one big BLUR! So we have been out and about......to the beach....to the country and doing fun stuff here and there.

So - that is what life has been. Have a few things to post which I will post over the next week. Everything is ALL things baby (of course). Will show you a couple of projects that I have been working on. Have taught myself to crochet (on U-Tube!) so have made a couple of baby hats.....I am very proud of myself. So stay tuned........

Summer Mini all in a Frenzy

How nice is it today??? Lovely Sunny weather, I have spent my day so far relaxing on the couch sitting in the path of the air blowing from the airconditioner.

It's funny, this is my third pregnancy.....but I had totally forgotten how uncomfortable it gets. I thought this baby was going to fall out last night!

OK ok, time for confession.

I can keep quite no longer - I must confess!

Had a bit of a Stamp at my brothers home the other night. KJ (sister in law) has this brilliant stampin' space. I love it. Had a lovely night trashin' it....(ooops! - I mean stampin in it).

For those that has visited KJ's blog will see - KJ has a bit of a passion for PUNCH ART. Maybe 'Passion' isn't the right word.....maybe OBSESSION is more like it! Check out her Stuff stampinkylie . She even sells kits of Pre-punched goodies - all ready for you to make.

Anyway...to make this really long story finally come to an end. Kylie had a few packs of her punch 'goodies' on one of the tables. I stole some......well - I TOOK some! Made a card with one of them....so I thought I had better give her credit!

See - I told you I would be posting today! I have been a busy girl, busy and makin' cards.....Or rather, maybe not so busy.....just so long since I posted a card!

Anyway. This next card was inspired by the very talented jaynemercer.
I like Jane's cards as they are quite simple, just very very effective. Jayne has a knack of simple but stunning and basically makes my many layers, frills, ribbon and accessories look just a tad overdone sometimes!

Now - I have tried to link the actual card, but it just hasn't worked. Jayne made the card with the 'Bird on a Branch' stamp set.......... I thought I would turn it into a kids card and make it a bit fun.

Time for some input! A welcome back to Blogland!

Greetings and Salutations my fellow stampers, crafters and Kindred Spirits.

Yes yes, I know....I have been absent of late with not much action happening here on my blog. I have taken some time out from Blogland (both blogging and browsing). For those that know me are aware I have recently returned to full-time work. And - let me tell you....It has been a bit of a struggle. I know I am not the first person to ever juggle a family and full-time work commitments, but have just been so damn tired (I guess I should mention that the fact that I am 19 weeks preggers probably adds to the fact that I am so tired!)

Today (Sunday) - I am in forced 'hometime' with a sick seven year old on the couch. No - I am not neglecting her....but in between tending to her every need....being at her beck and call - thought it would be the perfect time to post some cards before the new catalogue is released.

Are you as excited as I am? The new catalogue is BEAUTIFUL. I love it, have looked at it over and over again and I am still finding new things to admire and place on my Wish list. Drop me a line if you are interested in receiving your catalogue, happy to send you one in the mail ($15 with P&H).

I am thinking of having a new Catalogue workshop in September. Just need to play with some dates. I have a Daughter here that tells me she wants to have a workshop - so thought the new Catalogue would be the perfect time for Chiara to play 'hostess'. This has probably been my most favourite DSP of the current Catalogue. I loved it so much that I basically saved it for those 'Special' cards. I saved it so well that I have a fair bit left over! Don't you hate it when that happens........

She's getting married!

She's All that!

Does anyone have the stamp set 'She's all that'? Actually, I will rephrase that.......does anyone have the stamp set 'She's all that' and would like to part with it? I need one.

One of my stampin' buddies recently purchased this set on EBAY. It's so cute! Well, she brought it over one day and I stamped up a frenzy of images to use in the future. I have made a couple of cards, the one above was the first one I made.

As I was typing this.......I had the terrible thought. It might make other people fall in love with it and then compete against it for me on EBAY. So, I will correct myself.......It's not that nice! LOL!

My layout is a bit Teneal, although my bow is a bit of a poor excuse for a bow. I tried the a Bow Easy......let me tell you, it's not THAT easy. I have no idea what my sister in law KJ is talking about when she tells me that it is easy.

One card - 2 variations

The next card is a card that I made for one of the girls at work. One day some of the ladies and I were talking cards and Jane must have heard what we were talking about. Anyways, Jane tells me when she needs a card and I make one for her. I love it.

Now, I do like making cards. But I have realised that I LOVE making cards for specific reasons/people. Take the anniversary card.....it took me ages, but I loved it. I love trying different things until I like the final result.

Anyway. Jane asked me to make a card for a little girl. I made one card, and just wasn't happy with it, so I made another one just a little bit different.

This is the first one. Notice the stamp set!!!!! Told you that I would be using it more often. I like it....but it just wasn't right, so I had another go.

Here is my next attempt......

See what I mean? I think the first one was too overdone. Too many layers (is that possible, I always thought you can never have too many layers). I wish I had taken a pick of the inside and then I co-ordinated the envelope.............like I said, I love it when I make cards for someone specific.

An ALL IN THE FAMILY type of return!

I know, I know....you are picking yourself off the ground in total Shock. I am here and I am blogging! Wow! Apologies for my absence, I have had a bit of a break that I didn't realise I was going to have.

School holidays! I spent the first week working and was in Canberra for part of it, then had the second week off with the kids. For those that know me, I am soon returning to full-time employment for a few months so I just wanted to spend the holidays hanging with the kids.

I had these great plans to sort out the house, my wardrobe and clear out the kids rooms.....well, that didn't happen. But, more importantly we played, hung out with cousins, went to the movies, went down the coast and had lots of fun. It's a bit sad - holidays are over.

Well - whilst I have been holidaying from blogging. I have still been making. So, I will be blogging some of my creations of the next week or so (or maybe even longer). So, come and visit.........

Here is my first card, this one is an anniversary card I made for my sister and her hubby. I think it was 15 years this year. We went out for dinner at Plumes which is a Chinese resturant near us. We discovered that my brother, myself and Chiara are all allergic to lobster!

Anyways - here is my creation. I do like.......it took AGES to make, but I do love it when I am happy with the final result.

So there they all are, Peter (bro in-law), my sister Marie, Daniel and Luke........and there is Lucy the dog in the front. Like I said......this was lots of fun to make. I really don't use this stamp set much, but I think I will be using it lots now. Sweet Slumber DSP....it's nice isn't it. I am very sad that it is sold out (but I have to admit that I bought a few packs when was on Special).

I am back! Hopefully it will work today!

The first pic today is a pic of Bec and Carolina. The girls were fortunate enough to win a door prize at convention.....this is a pic of the winners, basking in their glory of 'MORE RUBBER!'

And then we have the sad losers! (Well - the people that DIDN'T win). A very very sad Jess and Ange.....

Now - I was fortunate enough to get a sales award at the banquet dinner. The girls and I had a fun night cheering everyone on and chatting with Pam from the Home Office. Here is a pic of me with Pam after I got my free stamp set!

Convention!!! All I can say is........'What a weekend'

Now - I do promise pics are coming.....just not with this post. Just have to write about convention now while it is all so fresh in my mind.

If you are addicted to Stampin' Up!.....you need to be at convention next year. I have a not so little secret....well it's not really a secret - but convention is in MELBOURNE next year! You just HAVE to go. I thought it would be fun..........but fun is just an understatement.

Let me just say that I have had the best weekend ever. I went with three fantastic girls......we laughed....we giggled.....we laughed and then laughed some more. You know how it is when a group just gels??? Well - that was us! So.....Carolina, Jess and Bec - thanks for a great time! I woke up Monday morning as was so sad that my buddies weren't around.

2 Days of talking Stampin, Big Shot, Vintage labels and free stamps. How much fun does that sound like? And as Bec put it.......' how good is it to be in a room of 500 people that understand Kiwi Kiss,, Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip?'.

Highlights for me.......I don't know - so many highlights.....catching up all my Stampin' friends....It went by like a blur - so quick feels like I didn't chat enough! Shelly Gardner opened the toilet door for me and said 'Hi'. I went to the same loo as a Celebrity stamper (not going to tell you who - but I was very excited.....and the girls were excited for me). Having dinner with Pam and then having her join in as we Cheered for my friend and up line 'Sue Madex' as she collected her MANY awards. Swaps!! How much fun was swaps! Man - I only had about 25.....but I loved this part of it....got to chat with so many people, admire their work. Loved seeing where everyone was from.

There are so many highlights....I will download my pics over the next couple of days and then post them on here.

And here is my card.

I wanted to use the new colours.....so I used the soft suede and Rich Razzleberry, co-ordinating DSP (Urban Oasis and Bella Bleu). The words are from the Level 2 Hostess Set 'Echoes of Kindness) and the flowers....Vintage Vogue (from the new Hugie)

I don't mind this card - told you it would be Better then the last!

Ok - have made a couple of cards with some goodies from the mini.....you know, sometimes you sit and you get it right. You get the right colour combo, right layout and you finish the session satisfied. Other times I sit, and it is a flop......

well here is the Flop.........

I think I just tried WAAAAYYY to much at the same time. Had a bit of a stamping session at the Home of Sue Madex the other night.....(man - what a fun night). Jess and I tried this colouring technique with the sponge daubers and the new colours for the Mini (Hugie). Then I was inspired by a card that Christ Blain had made...(check it out here ).....but it looks nothin' like Christine's. And then I thought - "Why stop - just keep going" and I did!

Love Love the new Colours. Love the Medalion stamp...love the Big Shot Top Note thingie.....love it all! (just not this card though).

New Mini - And WOW what a Mini!!!!

Greetings and Salutations!

I was sad when I realised the Summer Mini was ending as I think I LOVED every set in the catalogue.......Must have, as I think I got all of them!

But then I saw the new Mini - FANTASTIC! You are going to love it!

Here is the Mini

The new Mini....but don't let the name mislead you. IT IS HUGE, so I think I will refer to it as the HUGIE.....brings new colours (and they are lovely), the BIGSHOT and now a choice of Clear Mount stamps...as well as some lovely stamp sets!

The BIGSHOT - It's finally here! What a lovely piece of machinery. It looks lovely and works a treat.

And as mentioned - Clear mount stamps! Now you have the choice of Clear mounted stamps or the usual wooden blocks. Isn't choice grand!

Embracing MOJO

Greetings Stampers!

Well - what a germy couple of weeks I have had. I tell you - haven't been to the doctors this much since I was pregnant.....(no Carolina - I am not pregnant). It has been one thing after another - but finally.....I think I am healthy.

Have been a bit slack on the Blog front, but have a few cards to show over the next week.

Before I go on - I just have to say........"GO SUE!" , my lovely manager, upline and friend Sue Madex is only a hop skip and jump away from earning the Stampin' Up! Incentive trip. Go and check her stuff out at madexcreations . 150 Saleabration orders to go! Check it.....it's so exciting - I log in every day to check out how much closer she is.

Anyways.........back to my cards. Every now and then I make a card that I just can't stop looking at. Today's card is just that. I love it! I used this weeks Mojo Monday for inspiration.
Here is the sketch.....

And here is my interpretation.......

I do love the 'Embrace Life' stamp set....I think it is one of my favourites.

I stamped the black flower in Black Stazon. I am tending to use Stazon alot more then Basic Black ink as I think it is finer. Just stamps a little more delicately. I actually embossed the black and then coloured the flowers in with my white gel pen. You have to admit - it does look nice. I have embossed the leafy plant in gold over the top!

I have to give credit to my inspiration for the card...nearly forgot. My friend Sherene is a Lorraine Lea Linen Lady. Sherene was showing me some new quilts the other day and a couple caught my fancy. They caught my fancy as I just saw them in a card. This is one of the quilts I am talking about.....

Same Sketch - another card

I do have to admit, I am a bit of a Teneale Williams fan at the moment. I just love what she does with colours. I just loved what she did with a bit of razzle-dazzle the other day - that I just had to do it myself.

So here is my interpretation Teneale.....

My markers got a bit of a workout with this one! Isn't the colour combo great? Regal Rose, Rose Red and Old Olive....love them!

If you notice, it is the same MOJO sketch as yesterdays card. When you are on a good thing!

Greetings Stampers, do apologise for my absence. Things have been a bit hectic around here lately. My grandmother sadly passed away a bit over a week ago and things have just all gone by the wayside. But, I have had some chillax time and even sat and had a bit of a play. Just really haven't been in the mood to post. But, here is what I have been doing.......

This card was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch....I think it might have been last weeks or the weeks before, not sure. I had a bit of a colour challenge for the girls in my team....not that anyone bothered to do it (hint hint girls), but I did....even though I got it wrong!

Notice what I did wrong??? That AINT 'Taken with Teal' is it? Oh well - as I told the girls.......AT LEAST I DID IT!

I have been seeing these great easel cards everywhere...so I thought I would give it a go......

I didn't have Pumpkin Pie ribbon, so I thought I would just use Tangerine Tango....have to admit, my Tangerine Tango hasn't had much of a workout, so it was good to use it for a change!

I should post the Mojo Stetch that inspired me......

Greetings all and welcome to people that are visting my blog for the very first time.

Now - I thought now was a good time to post all of the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues for those who would like a bit of a look through. Pages and pages of fantastic stamps, papers, inks and supplies.
I still remember the evening when Sue Madex (my friend and Manager) introduced me to this world. I still can't believe that it has nearly been 2 years (wow that has flown).

I get excited when there is a new catalogue coming, I am always logging onto the Demonstrator Website - hoping for an early look!

Well - here are the catalogues.

The 2009-2010 Idea book & Catalogue - view here

160 pages of hard core stampin', paper, inks, ribbons etc, etc, etc. Make yourself a coffee before you still down as you wont be able to put it down. I still have one next to my bed that I love to flick through regularly. I still find little tidbits in it.

Other the the current main Catalogue (that is release every year), Stampin' Up! also has little Mini Catalogues with some limited release stamps. The Mini usually lasts three months and the items in the Mini are only available for the limited time.

We currently have the Summer Mini which is available. I have a few favourites in this one. Love the butterflies and the butterfly punch.

I'm Back!!!

After one of the best School Holidays EVER, we are back. Spent some time down the beach in Lorne and then some time in Adelaide (down the beach once again). Let me just say - contact me if you would like to know which caravan park in Adelaide you SHOULDN'T stay at (long story...but they basically cancelled our booking so we arrived in Adelaide with nowhere to stay, 2 kids and a caravan in tow). We found one of the BEST Parks, Big 4 - Adelaide Shores.

I will post some pics once I remember where I put my little camera. We all had a ball.

So I am back, have been itching to get my hands inked. And finally - I have. I was a bit excited when I saw the Mojo Monday Sketch as I knew I would get the CAROUSEL NOTES out finally, and even did a workout on the Circle cutter (it's great - you need one).

Now - Carousel Notes is something that is easily overlooked. Pg. 131 of the Catalogue - go check it out. Precut Scalloped Circles with an envelope.

I missed my stampin' - so I actually made 3 cards inspired from this weeks Mojo.....anyway, here is the sketch......

And here is what I did with it. The circle ones first... Remember there are THREE so keep scrolling!

So, I used 5th Avenue Floral here (the stamp set that is). Not sure if you can see the flower stamped lightly in the background with Pink Pirouette. I recently got a pack of the 'Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP (p133)', and I love it. So - just has to use the paper on this creation.

I embossed the words from the 5th Avenue set, I did it with 'Close to Cocoa' ink - I am thinking Choc Chip would have been a better choice, but it goes alright anyway.

'You only live once,

but if you do it right,

Once is enough.'

It is nice, but can anyone tell me what occassion they would use this saying for? As a congatulations? Not sure.

Next one was inspired by Teneale , I loved her 'Bird on a Branch' card so much I had to go and buy the set. Well combine this with Carousel Notes and I am happy with this one.

Not sure why I can't centre it! Like what I did with the Ribbon? Place some whisper white on some Baja, bit of a layering effect.

And finally - the last one.....

You have to look at this one and tilt your head just slightly as the words aren't straight. But I am happy with this. Pocket Silouettes is an easily forgotten set - but I really like it.

I give up!

Blogger whiz - I am not! ....I think you have all worked that out already though haven't you??? Hmmmnnnn - talk about stressful! I think I am just about where I was when I started - all this hassle for a few buttons that I want to sit at the top of my blog!

In between stressing out - going down to Lorne for a week and playing with the kids - I have actually managed to squeeze in a little bit of time to make cards.......but I haven't been relaxed doing it though.....so the cards are OK.......some I didn't like at all - so I just wont post them!

This first one - this one I love. Chiara was given a Kimmie doll the other day from Pete's cousin Kirrily. It's a cute little thing, she was very excited as it was called 'Kiki'. I was looking at it and I thought I could do the same with punches.........following KJ's recent addiction to punches (have you seen her stuff - So cute) go on check it out here

So, Chichi and I sat the other day with Kikki the Doll. And it was easy!!!

The entire doll was made with Punches (all of which I had - so I was very happy that I didn't have to improvise).

This is Kikki........lovely isn't she?

And here is my interpretation.....

The background stamp is the branches from the 'Embrace Life' stamp set. I just love this set - one of those sets that I used heaps when I first got it.....but have recently forgotten about it. I do like it!

You have to admit - it is pretty cute.

Hello Sam!

I have a friend called Sam, Who I have gotten to know this Stampin' gig.

I have said this time and time again.....That has been one of the best things about becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator - all the great people that I have met - other nutters who share my obsession with Ink and Rubber!

Anyway - to make a long story just a tad shorter. Poor Sam fell out of the trailer at the tip and hurt herself rather badly. Luckily she is on the mend but I was thinking of Sam when I made the next card. It's quite bright and happy!

Notice how I covered the Flamingos head! I am LOVIN this paper, and have you noticed that it is on SALE at the moment?......We all LOVE the word SALE...I will say it again - SALE! SALE! SALE!....lol. You can actually get a pack of th PINK FLAMINGO DSP for $12.71 (don't know why it is .71 - what a wierd number!) I (Heart) Hearts - Summer Mini

Another Mojo Sketch for Inspiration. And the Stamp Set 'I (Heart) Hearts...combine it with Close to Cocoa and Not Quite Navy cardstock with a bit of Very Vanilla and this is what you get.

My square ended up bigger then what I anticipated - so I didn't quitre know what to do with it......But - overall - think it worked out OK.

Ahhh - new rubber....it is just so soothing for the Soul.

Sometimes when life feels a bit overwhelming - isn't it great to just sit back and take it easy. I have to admit that I think I was tiring. I think that I had somehow lost my focus and totally forgot why I started this gig in the first place. I lost myself in it all, and the other night - it all came back.

I love makin'. And - I think that I forgot to 'Make'. So - my little 'Make' session the other night has made my love return.

So another 'Make' from the other night....

Greetings again

Told you I was on a roll....and here is another. Same Mojo Sketch as yesterday - so I wont post that again.

Drum Roll.....................

I call this "Hello Butterfly". I got this Stamp set free at the Stampin' Up Regional Conference a couple of months ago. Can't say that I have used it heaps - but it is one of those happy feelin' good sets. If I send a letter, I have stamped this on the envelope a few times......I like it.

Busy busy busy!

I have been a bit absent from Blogland of late, decided to have myself a bit of a rest and rejuvenate those creative juices. Just plain tired really when you think about it.

Well yesterday - Chiara and I sat down and made some cards. I introduced Chiara to Mojo Monday - and we sat and created. I will have to post a pic of Chiara's masterpiece during the week.

Anyway - I was so busy making cards that the clutter of paper, bits of ribbon and what-not just gathered all around me. Me thinks me will be cleaning up a craft corner today.

It's all a bit funny, I just moved the workspace to another table as the mess grew! I was on a roll - didn't want to waste time cleaning it all up!

Oh well - stay tuned for my cards over the next couple of days!

ICE CUBES?

I was outside taking pics of some cards this evening, and the kids decided they wanted to pose for a pic. I have found that it is those unplanned shoots that turn out best.

Checking the pics out tonight, I cannot believe how big my munchkins are getting!

Chiara will be 7 in a few weeks, but tonights pic really shows how big she is now!

And then there is my wittle monster! BADEN! Three year old Baden who can now ride his bike without training wheels! He is very proud of himself!

Note the scissors in his hand...told you it was unplanned. They were crafting when they noticed I was outside, so the scissors came out as well.

Baden made me laugh tonight. He asked me if he could watch Ice Age. I put it on for him as a bit of a wind down....he called Chiara and said, 'C'mon....we are watching Ice Cubes'. Gotta love it!

They get a bit excited when I include them in my blog - so tonight is for the kids!

Crazy Sparkley Cupcakes!

Don't we all just LOVE cupcakes!!!

As well as butterflies - I have had a bit of a thing for cupcakes of late. Spent many a night making cupcakes (out of paper) before Paperific.

They looked great in my cupcake stand...(well - it was actually a fruit stand - but it fitted the cupcakes fine).

This is a close up of the cupcakes that I make for the show. Each cupcake was a bit of a sampler with some ribbon, brads, buttons, flowers and hodgepodge inside (each cupcake had different things). I was quite proud of how they turned out!

And, in the theme of cupcakes, have a cupcake card to share with you today!

And yes - pink once again! But I have used Kiwi Kiss and Tempting Torq. as well! The dots have been covered with Dazzling Diamonds just add that BLING that I love!!!

Stampin' with Sam!

As some of you are aware, I was recently involved in the Stampin' Up! stand and the recent CRAFTEXPO and then Paperific shows. One of the bonuses of being involved in these shows has been that I have made lots of new pals. Pals that all share my obsession with all things paper!

I spent the day hanging out with one of those new Gal Pals on Monday. Spent the day with the lovely Samantha Kaspers. Had a great day Stampin with some new rubber....good to know people that have different stamps to mine! Filled my phone with lots of cards that I plan of CASing over the next few weeks!!

Let me just say that Sam makes the Bestest Lumberjack cake I have ever EVER had.....not sure if I have had it too often before...but it was delicious!

Sam did have one of my new favourite sets....And, she has so kindly loaned it to me for a little while, so you will be seeing lots of it over the next few weeks!

I call this one, Cheep Sparkles!

I do like my use of colour in this one. Bit different to my usual style - (ie, pink and brown.....oops I mean Choc Chip).

We did sparkle on Monday - lots of glitter in use! It was wonderful to meet someone that loves glitter just as much as I do!!!

I think my favourite set from the Spring Mini has been the 'Great Friend Butterflies'....Could you tell? Butterflies have been having quite of bit of time here on my blog.....Hmmmmnnnn - but I like the train to. Decisions, decisions - which one was my favourite.....just don't know!

Anyway - only a few more days of the spring mini....only a few more days to order any of those sets you have been ooohing and ahhhhing over.

When it rains....it pours!!

You know the saying....'when it rains it pours!' Well it's pouring CARDS!

I know I have been a bit absent lately, bit of distance between card posts, well tonight I shall make up for it! I've bin a busy gal makin' cards!

So tonight - I have a self imposed card making ban! I have promised myself that I will actually get to bed before 11.00pm, so I am not even going to go to my desk...the temptation is far to great.

So here is my first card. I actually made this card with my good friend Sue Madex in mind, Sue has recently been made a Stampin' Up! Manager and I wanted to make her a card. I am not sure if this is 'THE ONE' though. (So you might not get this one Sue)

Sue is a wonderful UPLINE and now MANAGER, she is so organised and puts in so much effort so I was very excited when she was recently made Manager. You know, I know there are so many great supervisors and managers within Stampin' Up! All such great ladies, but I feel very fortunate to have Sue as my MANAGER!

I still laugh at the very thought that our daughters went through a whole year of kinder together and I didn't know Sue was a 'Kindred Spirit'. Yeah - she was nice enough....but I didn't have any idea that we shared the same obsessions (I think Obsession is the right word....can't think of anything stronger). Actually I lie, she organised a scrapbook for the kinder teachers at the end of the year and I got an idea then. I think me going around the kinder with the camera glued on my eye was a dead give away!

Anyway - I am babbling...I call this card - WELL DONE SUE!

Stamp Sets - Baroque Motifs and Great Friend.

I still think Baroque Motifs is my all time favourite stamp set.......Can you believe that Lyndall? And, I will miss the butterflies from the Great Friend Stamp set (only available until the end of Nov).

OK - next!

Orange Cupcakes?

I am just not sure about this card. Personally - it doesn't work for me, just didn't 'LOVE' it. It started out as something totally different - then the colours just took on a life of their own.....and here it is. Bit busy for me I think.

And then......I went back to the Pun Fun Rockets!

This is a close up - just to show you what I did. Used my Large Roller 'Stars' and embossed them with clear. Then I Brayered over the top in Basic Black. I then cut the rockets out and placed them with Dimensionals, and covered them with Crystal effects......I just LOVE crystal effects!

This card is a bit Special, the circle SPINS!!!! Baden just loves it and tells me that it is his card.

Here is the card....

Notice the Scallop Border around the circle? Now - I know this is nothing new to all you stampin' folk, but it was to me. I was at the home of my lovely friend Sue Bayliss the other night. Sue is such a talented lady. We walked out of her house after our visit and the exact words of Chiara (6 year old daughter)......'Her cards are so much better then yours mum'.......What is the saying....out of the mouths of babes? hmmmmnn. Anways, Sue told me how to do a scalloped border around a circle. Have a long strip of cardstock and use the scallop border around the edge......then, put it through your crimper! The crimped card the allows you to basically mold it around the edge of the circle! Brilliant! Thanks Sue.

And now another. I made this card a few weeks ago, but I finally repaired it the other night. Bit of an accident with some Crystal Effects and my finger.

And thats it for this evening! 10.30! Still on track to be in bed on time!!! YAY!

I would like to welcome new visitors to my blog! As some of you are aware, I spent a lovely Saturday with three great ladies at Paperific! What a fun day.....even if it was just a bit hot.

Got my camera back!

I'm back - man, 2 posts in a day....I am on a roll!

I just got my camera back tonight, so am able to post some cards. I have another camera, but I like my other camera when taking card pics.......Now Brulie, do you remember what I said when you asked to loan the camera??? Do you recall me telling you that you could use my camera as LONG AS IT CAME BACK CHARGED? Guess what - it's flat!

I lost my charger a few months back and haven't replaced it yet. I guess I will be buying a charger this weekend - I feel lost without my camera!

Oh well - not to worry.......just having a sook!

Anyways, have been a busy girl making cards, so I thought I would post them for you all to see...............................

One for my kids!

You know - sometimes I reflect over conversations I have had with people during the day.....or I reflect about what I have been doing and thinking about during the day.....and a common thread/thing comes up time after time....My kids! I think I am completely and absolutely obsessed with my kids! Poor Kevin (gentleman who I work with)......I actually thinks he knows EVERYTHING about my kids as I keep him informed on a minute by minute basis!

During my lunch break at work - more often or not there is something that I just NEED to get for them. Or, if I pass something that I think they will like - I have to get it! I tell you - OBSSESSED.....you do have to admit - they are pretty cool!

Anyway.....as I was saying - I am completely obsessed...I just can't take enough pics of them.......If something happens and I don't have my camera with me - I am shattered, just knowing that I may never have that moment again.......My sister teases me, she points out a 'blink' that I might have missed.

So - you can imagine......I have 10 Zillion pics of my kids! Thank goodness for Digital cameras! Can you imagine the photo albums I would have if we didn't have digital cameras!

I actually carry a small camera in my handbag at all times, just in case I need it! But it is a common sight for me to be seen lugging my SLR EVERYWHERE!

Anyway - to get to the story. Most of you know that I was recently involved in CRAFTEXPO. One of the items on display was this beautiful Memory Box by Michelle Grech. You can see Michelle's box here.

Now - Michelle's box so sadly went walkabout at the Expo! But it was just lovely! It was admired by everyone.

I was totally inspired to add my own touch to this lovely idea! Using my total pre-occupation with my kids as the subjects of course!

I used a heap of pics from the last 3 years - so it's a bit of a summary....loads of fun!

Lift the lid and it 'explodes' open!

There are some hidden words behind some pics which has all their favourite things listed.

I used the SIMPLY Scrappin kit - Love Sparkles. One kit will make 2 boxes - so it is great value at $36.95. I just love it.

I surprised the kids with it the other morning. I had the box sitting there and told them to open it. They loved it - was a great hit.....and they show it to everyone that comes here.....I am a bit the same - I took it to work to show everyone! Kept looking for people to show!

You know - I love sitting a making cards.........but this project just gave me 'joy'.

I think workshops are one of my favourite things about being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. I get to meet lovely people who share my love of Craftin'. My most favourite thing though is watching a person fall in love with Stampin'...........

Well let me explain workshops....

A workshop is a fun get together with you and your friends. As the HOSTESS you get to send out these lovely invitations that I give you and then we all get together and have a play. I will demonstrate some techniques and we (everyone) will get to make a card or 2. Everyone will then have an opportunity to purchase some Stampin' Up products and as the Hostess you will be eligible to earn free hostess stamps sets (that are only available only to HOSTS) and merchandise from the Catalogue. It's fun!

A floral delight!

Greetings all!!!!

Oooh - I think Blogger has changed as it looks a bit different as I type this. Just a little bit exciting....Everthing is just so exciting these days - I just can't stop buzzing!!!

We all know how much I loved EXPO!! Hello to everyone that reads this that I met at Expo - great meeting you all. I did love meeting all those fellow craft addicts - love the fact that I am not the only one with a cupboard full of unfinished projects!!!

And after Expo there was the Stampin' Up Regionals. For those that went - how good was that? It was heaps of fun hanging out with the girls all day........I just want the day back! I had made 20 swaps for the day.....was going to show them all to you - but alas I forgot to take a pic of them - DER!!!

And - finally....last night I made some cards! I have a pile of washing that needs folding but I just had a need to make a card. Actually - I made 2! They were both the same - so I will only post 1 of them...........

Melbourne Regionals!

Swaps! Swaps! Bring on the Regional Training Day!

Well - I have been the busiest bee lately.....so busy - that I forgot about Blogging!! Woops!

"What have you been busy with Ange?" - I hear you ask....well, first I was busy making those zillion cards from the Petal Party Kit for my display board at the CraftExpo! Then, busy getting ready for the Expo.

Speaking of Expo - let me just say how much fun it was!! Big thanks to the Saturday girls. Sue and Nikki - had the best day ever! And to everyone that I met at the Show......."HI! It was great to meet you!" . It was lovely to meet fellow crafters who shared my love of not only paper craft - but crafts in general. It was fantastic to hear that I am not the only one with a cupboard of unfinished projects in the cupboard and who has tried EVERYTHING!

And for my latest task......Swaps for the Stampin' Up Regional Day on SATURDAY!!! Can't wait - am so looking forward to it. I had planned on making 50 swaps for the day - well I just gave up there, so have settled for 20! Let me just say that they are 20 QUALITY swaps - lol!

So, wont show you the swaps - want to surprise the ladies, but here is a sneak peak! Can you guess the stamps and colours I have used??? C'mon - give it a go!!!

And - while I was downloading some pics....just had to include the latest pic of my Wittle Munchkin!! I look at his cheeky pics and realise just how cheeky my boy is. He loves posing for pics at the moment....he tells me that I have to go outside with him and take pics of him riding his bike or scooter.......hhmmmnnn - funny how both of my children are posers! Wonder where they go that from? Such shy flowers......

And that is it for tonight. Still getting ready for tomorrow nights workshop. Planned last minute - but I couldn't resist as I really like hanging out with the Teachers!!

Greetings all!!

I have been way busy lately - hence my absence. Apologies! Have another card to post using that great KIT! Although I do admit that I think I am all kitted out!

I did a kids workshop the other day, thought it would be fun to do a card with the little girls name. Thanks girls - I had a great workshop! Lots of fun playing with you.

This card was inspired by my friend Sue BAYLIS...check out her stuff at Sue. Sue is super talented and had made up these fantastic cards. Hers were Christmas cards - but I thought they would be great with kids names on them!

HI all

Apologies for my absence - have been away CAMPING!! Well, actually...that isn't technically correct anymore. I should be saying....we have been away CARAVANING!!

We went to Echuca - and let me say how lovely it is there..It was a great trip, bit relaxing - kids had a ball....you should see my 3 year old on his scooter. We had to buy him a RAZOR scooter while we were away as he quite plainly told us that his three wheeled scooter was for babies!

Simply Scrappin'

Has anyone noticed the SIMPLY SCRAPPIN' Kits on Pg 136-138 of the catalogue? Go on - get your catalogue and check them out.

I have never really taken notice of them before - but they aren't bad value.

For todays card display I split the Petal PARTY set in half. That's right - I only used HALF of the set (I did used white cardstock though). With half of the kit, I made 10 cards. How many cards Ange? - I hear you ask. Thats right - 10!

10 cards and 2 8"x8" scap pages. What a delighted afternoon I have had. So, I am not going to post 10 cards all at once....I will give you a couple at a time.

I have a thing for making flowers out of my punches at the moment. I just can't get enough. Love it so much, thought I would do some with the girls last night. I am even thinking about hunting for my old papertole stuff........paper tole flowers?

OK - this first card is inspired by this weeks MOJO Monday (see link on previous page). As mentioned before...didn't like my first version on this card so I thought I would try it again. Quite happy with how this one worked out......

I call this one - Urban Silhouettes!

Recipe:
Stampin set : Pocket Silhouettes
Paper/card : Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Urban Garden DSP
Ink : Kiwi Kiss and Basic Grey
Accessories : Kiwi Kiss Ribbon, Brad
Flower was made with the Flower Punch, just punched it a few times with DSP and used different sides to the paper.

Now - this one isn't a card, it's actually a gift bag that I decorated. My friend Sherene had a Name Day recently for her son Ethan. I had planned on giving Ethan a blanket that I had embroidered for him. Needless to say - as Sherene knows....blanket isn't finished...but I have this great bag for him!

The train is from the current 'Spring Mini", stamp set is called 'Choo Choo' and 'Right on Track' small roller.

I had made some cards recently with the same cloudy idea. Forgot to take pics of them though (they were for a swap)...don't you hate it when that happens.

And another....man - I am on a roll today.

Spotlight anyone?

I had this great idea to do 'Spotlighting' for this months technique class. Every single card I tried....was a dismal failure. I have no idea where I got his card from....apologies for not giving credit.....but I finally found a sample that I 'loved'.

Colours : Choc Chip, Sahara Sand, Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla

Now the Final Card I didn't stamp. I actually used the cutouts from the Rock-a-Bye Girl Simply Scrappin kit. I have never really used these things before...but I tell you, they aren't bad value!
For $36.95 you get 2 sheets each of 3 different Die-cut sheets, and a whole lot of 12X12 cardstock (plain and patterned).

Busy Makin' cards!

I did it guys!

I finally made some cards today!

YAY!!!

For those that know me, you will know that I have had a terrible time lately trying to make some cards. Just wasn't happy with anything that I came up with. Not sure what happened - but the Mojo was gone!

Inspiration hit me at 5.30 this morning. Well - not sure if it was inspiration or just the fact that I couldn't sleep. Anyway, there I was in bed - wide awake. Thought 'Should get up and make some cards'. And that is exactly what I did.

Went straight to the Mojo Monday page, thought I would definitely get inspired there.
Didn't like my first card, but I didn't mind the second one at all. I was so excited that a card finally worked that I had to ring a fellow demonstrator and friend Sue to tell her.
Then - as I was talking to Sue - another inspiration using the same Mojo Sketch. And then another.........so I made 3 cards today!

Don't have to cook tea tonight, so I might just keep going.

Anyway - here is the Mojo Monday sketch, the sketch that is resposible for getting those creative juices running today. Oh - how indebted I am to that sketch.

Yo Stranger! It's me - Ange!

Greetings greetings greetings.....

It has been WAAAAAYYYYYY TOOOOOOOO Long I know.

Lots of excuses, lots to tell - it's all a bit exciting.

First things first - we got hacked! Someone hacked into our computer. I came home one Sunday a couple of weeks ago and Pete looked like someone had died. Then he broke the news, someone had hacked our email and ebay accounts and we could not get it. I think I felt more violated then anything else.....I wasn't worried about bank accounts or anything as we don't use this computer to do our banking, and I don't keep anything personal in our email accounts, but how rude - changing our passwords on us.

So - Pete has spent ages, checking to see that they haven't left any hidden viruses, we have these imaginary walls around our computer now - Ain't no-one doin' that again. He has spent ages on this machine - fixin' everything up. But today - he is at work....I should be house cleaning as that bomb has hit here...but I thought I would log in and say hi.

No card to post - my MOJO is gone. I have tried and tried, but the creative juices just aren't flowing. Hopefully somethin' will come before Fridays class, the cards I made last night for the class weren't very exciting at all...............and I do like making nice cards for a class.
Did anyone watch 'Dancing with the Stars' on TV Sunday night? I didn't............ask me why I didn't watch it on TV. "Ange - why didn't you watch Dancing with the Stars on TV Sunday night?"...I hear you ask. Well, I didn't watch it coz' I WAS THERE!!!! How exciting, it was so much fun. And yes, that was me in the background towards the end when Daniel was talking...All I can say is THANK GOODNESS I DIDN'T PICK MY NOSE!!! I have never really been a follower of the show, but it was so much fun - I am just going to start watching it now.......too bad this Sunday is the last show for this series.

It has been soooo long between posts!

I know, I know - I have been terribly slack! It has been ages since I posted last. And then I cheated and posted pics of family instead of cards.........It just takes forever to download the pics from my camera. And - I have been just plain lazy!

But alas, the time is now and I shall post a card.

I had a technique class at my place on Friday - and someone was telling me how long it's been since I last posted a card. So - I am sorry. Speaking of Classes - you should try them - they are lots of fun!

I had spent lots of time on my Newsletter, trying to convert it from my laptop onto the PC and it was just too hard. Hence the reason the format of the Newsletter was a little different this month. There were lots of pics - but it just didn't work!

I came home from work a little earlier today, idea was to come home and clean this house. Well - I did the kids bathroom! And then I thought it would be so much more fun to play on the computer - so here I am.

I call this card - 'Embracing Kiwi Leaves'.

I have decided that I am going to name my cards now - give them a title.

I don't think I have posted this card before - if so apologies.

I had a few people look through my stash of cards the other day, asking me why I hadn't posted these cards - I thought I had....but maybe that was on my Split coast Gallery.

The last pics of my wander down memory lane

It's funny, when you look through photos all these memories come flooding back. I thought I would post a couple more pics of my memories of Nonna.

I have just organised the writing on her tomb to be completed. And, I just can't stop thinking about her at the moment. So I thought I would post a couple of happy pics of MY memories with her and not just old pics.

This pic is a photo of my wedding day. I call this pic 'Ange' - as we are all named Ange. There is me (I am the bride), Nonna and my cousins Angela P and Ange S from Sydney. There is another photo hanging around somewhere that was taken in Sydney....in that pic there are another 2 Angela's and an Angelo! We are a bit original when it comes to names!

And how nice is the next pic. My sister in law Carolyn took this one - and I just love it. I have 2 favourite photos of my grandparents and this is one of them. It was taken 10 years ago (at my wedding) - but this is how I remember my grandparents. I don't remember then as the elderly frail people they had become.

So - these are some happy memories with my grandparents. A more recent snapshot of them.

......' then I remember times when it was just me and my Non. My nonna who used to try and teach me to sew, who was so proud that I had finally learned. My nonna who used to yell out the window ’awoonda vai (were are you going)’ each time I went out, who used to get me to drive her to the shops on my way to work. Nonna who used to get me to dye her hair and pluck her eyebrows, who I was always scared I was going to hurt ….but kept telling me to go on. My Nonna who would ask me what happened to my hair every time I straightened it, then would ask me the same thing when it was curly. The Nonna who would be walking down the street with her jet black hair, handbag in one hand with her overloaded shopping jeep in tow. Nonna who danced the tarantella on my wedding day and who would hold my kids for as long as they would let her. Nonna who my kids called Lola, who used to correct them and say it was ‘Nonna Lola’. That is the Nonna who I will remember, who I love and will never forget. The Nonna I will speak about to my kids to keep her memory alive.'
